I'm a director of photography and editor, London based, though the work has a habit of not staying there.

I've spent over 15 years behind cameras, in the UK and internationally, and a good part of that filming this city: glass boardrooms in the City with difficult light, conference halls in Westminster where you shoot from wherever you're allowed to stand, warehouses in Hackney that turn out to be better than most studios, and more grey-sky exteriors than I care to count. London is not an easy place to film. That is partly why I like it.

Along the way I've filmed more than 1,000 talking-head interviews, mostly with company executives, which is a strange thing to have a number for but a useful one. It taught me the part of this craft nobody sees on the reel: the couple of minutes before the first question, when someone stops performing and starts talking. Get that right and the light, the frame and the edit all have something worth serving.

Since the end of 2024 I've been running Headroom Films, the video production company I founded, working alongside a trusted team of producers, crew and editors.
